What we do

Ayurveda Hospitals in Kerala

“Ayurveda” is a compound word that implies two connected ideas – “ the science of life” and “the art of living”. A 5000 year old holistic medical system, advocating a way of life and emphasizes prevention of disease, rejuvenation of our body systems and longevity of life. Ayurveda provides an integrated approach to preventing and treating illness through lifestyle modifications and natural therapies.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF AYURVEDA

Ayurveda draws its concept and theories from the primary spiritual teachings of India like vedas and upanishads.

Panchamahabhootha Philosophy – the five elemental theory states that everything in this universe is composed of basic five elements such as earth, water, fire, air and space and the only additional element the living things are credited with is Chaithanya or spirit/soul.

MOTO OF AYURVEDA

Preservation of health in healthy and treat ailments with breaking causative factors of pathogens. The theoretical side of Ayurveda provides insights into how to live one’s life in harmony with nature and natural laws and in rhythm. The practical side specifically gives guidelines for an intelligent, regulated diet and a daily routine. It also provides us with technique for stress management, exercises for increased fitness and alertness and helps us to take control of our lives and develop radiant health.

Perhaps the most important lesson Ayurveda has to teach is that our health is up to us. Everyday of our lives, every hour and every second, we can choose either health or illness. When we choose wisely, nature rewards us with health and happiness. When we persistently choose unwisely, nature in her wisdom, eventually sets us straight, she makes us sick and gives us a chance to restart and rethink our choices.

CONCEPT OF TRIDOSHA – VATHA – PITHA & KAPHA

The Tridosha while not prevalent to the naked eyes govern the biological, physiological and pathological functions of the body, mind and consciousness. Thought, feelings, speech, action, metabolism, likes and dislikes of one person differ from others. This makes the individuality of a person, which is the key factor in Ayurveda. Constitutional nature of every individual is different and is predetermined at the time of conception and remains the same throughout life.

YOGA

YOGA

The Holy land of India is home to several timeless traditions. Yoga the science of man, base on ancient Indian Wisdom and culture, is an art of living healthy, balance, peaceful and contented life. Its basically a way of life which has been evolved as a system to go beyond the personality complex and achieve absolute freedom, liberation of the spirit from the matter. Yoga creates a sense of union in all aspects of ourselves; in the body, mind and spirit.

The name YOGA is derived from Sanskrit word “YUJ” means to join to unite or to merge.

AYURVEDA & YOGA

  • Ayurveda and Yoga are sister vedic sciences that have been united for thousands of years for the healing of body, mind and consciousness.
  • Generally speaking, Ayurveda deals more with health of the body, while yoga deals with purifying the mind and consciousness, but in reality they complement and embrace each other.
  • Ayurveda and Yoga both emphasize cleansing of the body for health and support of spiritual practices.
  • Their methods are similar and work by expelling excess dosha and ama, or toxins, using the body’s natural routes of elimination.
