Who we are
Traditional Knowledge of Ayurveda has been transferred from Generation to Generation in certain families of Kerala, India. Madukkakuzhy is one such family where the tradition of Ayurveda has existed for the past Nine generations. We are committed to propagating Ayurveda and its tradition around the world, so that more people can experience healing powers of Ayurveda.
Tradition
Vaidyakalanidhi M.C. Mathew the 6th generation Ayurveda practitioner in the family started learning Ayurveda from his parents and followed it by completing his Ayurveda university education from Trivandrum Ayurveda College, he continued his studies with many eminent scholars and gurus of that time and laid the foundation for Madukkakuzhy Ayurveda in 1938 and established an Ayurveda medicinal preparation facility during the same period.
Vaidyakalanidhi M.C. Mathew made many developmental changes in Madukkakuzhy family. His in-depth understanding of Ayurveda, his innovations in the field of Ayurveda & his dedication to Ayurveda made Madukkakuzhy Ayurveda a trove of Ayurveda wisdom.
He is followed by his son Dr Joy Mathew and by his grandsons Dr Robin Jacob and Dr Jobin J Madukkakuzhy.
Late Dr. Joy Mathew
Late Dr.Joy Mathew, a Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine, did his graduation from Trivandrum Ayurveda College in Kerala. Inheriting the Ayurveda practice of medicine from his father Late Vaidyakalanidhi MC Mathew, Dr. Joy Mathew earned the reputation of being an expert in Keraliya Panchakarma and practiced Ayurveda medicine since1972.
Under his leadership and guidance Madukkakuzhy Ayurveda started 2 more centres in Kerala. His vision to spread the healing touch of Ayurveda globally lead to the establishment of Madukkakuzhy Ayurveda in Europe.
He was privileged to be the President of Ayurveda Mandalam of Kottayam district for a decade from the year 1980. Recognising his relentless service to humanity through Ayurveda medicine, Ayurveda Medical Association honoured him with the ‘Life time contribution to Ayurveda’ Award in the year 2014.
Late.Dr. Joy Mathew was truly a visionary in Ayurvedic Medicine.
